The kayamba rustle is made from reeds filled with seeds and bound together.  When played, it is moved up and down or left and right.  On the lower raft of the rustle there are strung up additional cane strings, so that in addition to rustling, the kayamba can produce some tones when flung.

The instrument originates from Kenya.  However, it is played throughout the West Africa.
